Last week marked the 10th Annual Meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative in New York City. This project of the Clinton Foundation began in 2005. Their mission? Convening global leaders to create and implement innovation solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges. Hundreds of the most influential government leaders, CEOs, and philanthropists combine forces, attending conversations and workshops on how to best turn these game-changing ideas into actions.

It should come as no surprise that Access Our Medicine’s primary supporter, the Mindset Foundation, will be in attendance!

Among the inspiring activities happening at the annual meeting are the annual Commitment Announcements. In these 2 minute videos, attendees announce commitments that they are making towards innovative projects that directly address and take action on these most pressing global issues.  To date, members of the CGI community have already made nearly 3000 commitments, totalling $103 billion, affecting the lives of more than 430 million people in over 180 different countries.

We are pleased to share that Mindset Foundation will be joining this incredible group of innovators and change-makers. Earlier this summer we shared a post about an inspiring group already hard at work in the field of access to affordable medicine: the Dispensary of Hope. This Nashville based group has spent the last 8 years connecting $40 million in surplus medicines with patients who otherwise couldn’t afford them. The Mindset Foundation is making a commitment to scale their impact!

Mindset has developed a five year plan with the Dispensary of Hope that enables the organization to receive over $100 million of donated medicine per year and distribute this medicine through hospital-based and community charitable pharmacies; which will impact more than 1.2 million people over the next 5 years.
