We have made monumental advances in healthcare, yet two billion don’t have access to the life-saving medicine they need. Drug prices have risen at unprecedented rates. Governments struggle to pay for the medicines their people need, and many individuals go without.
Access Our Medicine is a call for innovation. Since 2015, more than 100 000 people have signed our declaration from all walks of life: patients, caregivers, doctors, nurses, researchers, industrialists, celebrities including Richard Branson, Sarah McLachlan and Sean Penn, and civil society organizations representing 800 million people.
They called for access to affordable medicines across the globe – no matter someone’s social or economic situation. The United Nations responded to our call, adding access to medicines to their 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Learn more about the Access Our Medicine story here.
We know access to medicines is a complex issue. That’s why we believe all stakeholders – from patients to healthcare providers, industry leaders to innovators – must work together to create transformative ideas, unique models and groundbreaking innovations that will bring affordable medicine to all.
